Info: |
Amur tigers are the largest and lightest coloured of the tiger sub-species, and the largest cats in the world. They have fewer stripes, longer fur, longer bushier tails, proportionally larger feet and a lot more visible white fur than the other tiger subspecies. These features are typical of cats from colder parts of the world. Larger bodies mean proportionally less surface area for heat loss, longer fur and bushier tails keep body temperature regulated, and larger feet help to distribute weight when walking through snow. |
